I watched the first season of THE WIRE so long ago that we were getting DVDs mailed to us by Netflix. It was awesome, but it was hard to keep fitting into my schedule, so I never watched the rest. ROME I never watched at all.
The Wire season 1 is definitely the best of them all so I don't think you're missing too much by not watching the rest - though they all have their moments and some story arcs do develop over seasons (Omar Little and Stringer Bell are absolute gems!)
Rome is only 2 seasons. But if you got any interest for history/the Roman end-of-the-Republic era, it should be a blast... I would honestly be surprised if you did not at least like it.
I haven't watched Stranger Things and your 'review' certainly isn't going to motivate me to do so... :)
