The Ingtar thing specifically was irritating, in part because they gave him basically one line out of his book-ending, and did so in a way that drained all of the emotional content from it.

Think they have gotten a go-ahead for 3rd season, which I will definitely watch

Yes, changing Ingtar from a fallen man desperate for redemption to an unremarkable side character and then trying to give him the same noble ending was infuriating. I'm pretty sanguine about the changes that need to be made in adapting works for other media, but losing that and Thom Merrilin in Cairhien are big regrets for me.

I think the show will jump directly into book four/five next season, as the only real plot points they haven't picked up yet are Faile's introduction and Callandor; and frankly, you can move a lot of the Tear stuff to Falme since the plot wanders away from Tear pretty soon after Rand takes charge.

Arrrgh, SO grating...

I read (but can't find) something about how they actually filmed a bit where he gets more of his book speech revealing that he was a Darkfriend, but cut it for length. I would've been okay with the omission if his self-sacrifice had at least been worth something, but he held off basically zero men, so it was a total waste.

Another nitpick: The sound of the Horn sucked. It's supposed to be beautiful and inspiring, and that was... not.
